Summer is heating up and the buzz around the Island Hills Golf and Country Club in Sayville is the return of the Suffolk County Girl Scout Council's annual Golf Classic on July 24.
Just as the divots from last year's tournament have all been repaired and the fairways manicured to perfection, the Sixth annual Classic returns for even more fun in the sun.
More than 150 golfers are expected to participate in this very popular and successful event which, as in past years, will serve to raise funds for the council's aggressive outreach programs.
Participants will enjoy 18 holes of challenging golf, refreshments served on the course, a barbecue lunch, a cocktail hour and a complete dinner, at which awards will be given out and prizes raffled off.
In addition, golfers have the opportunity to win a 24-month lease of a 2015 Acura 2.5 TL, courtesy of Hillside Acura of Bay Shore, or their choice of a 24-month lease of a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette or 36-month lease of a 2014 Chevrolet Blazer, courtesy of Ramp Chevrolet of Port Jefferson Station.
